Thanks to a grant from the South Dakota Beef Industry Council the Food Science students have had the opportunity to cook Flat Iron Steak, Tri-Tip steak, Boneless County Style Ribs and Denver Cut Steak! Thanks so much for their support!

The 8th grade physical science class was studying light waves . They had to light up a maze creating a light source that could make three turns, split into two beams--one beam blue and the other white.

Lemmon FFA had a very successful State LDE! The Marketing team of Shannon , Kelly and Katelyn placed 5th. The Ag Communication team of Alyssa, Tevyn, Emma and Emma placed 5th. Gage placed 8th Extemporaneous Speaking. Way to go FFA members!

Congratulations to Gage Anderson for placing 3rd in Extemp Speaking and for being elected to District 5 FFA Treasurer. Congratulations to Shannon Gebhart, Kelly Lynch and Katelyn Gebhart for placing 2nd in Marketing Plan. Alyssa Dix, Tevyn Lutz, Emma O'Donnell, and Emma Barnes for placing 2nd in Ag Communication. Brooks Foss placed 4th in Creed Speaking and Darla Barnes placed 9th, Sam Weishaar placed 7th in Employment Skills and Krystal Jordan placed 9th. Unfortunately, the Parliamentary Procedure, Conduct of Chapter Meetings, Ag Sales, and Ag Issues couldn't compete due to the snowstorm. We are very proud of their dedication and work ethic this LDE season.

Lemmon School District is proud of Jale Yalowizer, a Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation Semifinalist. 1,557 high school seniors were selected as Semifinalists from a pool of over 91,000 submitted applications from across the country based on academic excellence, leadership, and service demonstrated in school and community activities. Jale will be moving to the next part of the three part selection process. Part 2 will narrow the list to 250 finalists by the end of January. Part 3 will narrow the list to the 150 students who will receive a $20,000 college scholarship. The $20,000 Scholarship winners will be announced in March.
