Lemmon FFA hosted a CDE contest today with over 600 student/advisors attending from surrounding districts. Thank you FFA Advisor Renae Gebhart for all the work you did to make this day a success. We would also like to thank all of the community members who volunteered their time to judge the contests!

For the past nine months, Katelyn has been serving a role as one of South Dakota's representatives on the National Youth Leadership Council with NRECA. Recently, she had the opportunity with over 6,000 individuals to attend the national annual meetings in San Antonio, TX. At the event, she actively participated in diverse activities, including delivering a speech, assisting in packing food for veterans, engaging in business and leadership sessions, and networking with leaders in the electric cooperative profession. Over the course of these months, Katelyn has consistently attended bi-weekly leadership training sessions, showcasing her commitment and dedication. Congratulations to Katelyn for representing South Dakota!

Lemmon School District seeks a motivated School Nutrition Director beginning the 2024-2025 school year. This position oversees all aspects of the district’s child nutrition operation for school breakfast, lunch, and other special events. Job functions include ensuring sanitation, food safety, and employee safety; overseeing the operational procedures for planning, preparing, and serving daily meals; ensuring program accountability; kitchen personnel management; providing nutrition education; financial management and record keeping; and providing friendly customer service to students, staff, and families. Applicants must have a high school diploma or higher degree. Additional considerations for the applicant pool will be relevant food service experience and certifications. This is an hourly 10-month position starting August 1 annually with expectations/opportunities to receive paid training before starting and between school years. Position considered full-time with benefits, salary depending on experience.
